Young Volunteers Scheme
What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is a drink and a snack. All equipment is provided but it helps if you have waterproof shoes and a warm coat in case of bad weather.
Is transport provided?
Unfortunately no. However, you might be able to claim reasonable travel expenses or share a lift with another volunteer. If you need help with transport, get in touch and we’ll try to link you up with another young volunteer in your area.
How can I get Involved?
If you’re interested and want to find out more, please contact us and we’ll send you a Consent Form. Complete and send the form back and we’ll be in touch to tell you when you can start.
The WITH Young Volunteer scheme is especially for young people aged 14-25 who want to learn more about horses, contribute to the daily running of the centre, gain work experience, meet new friends and give back to the community. Plus, it looks great on your CV! Young Volunteers meet every Saturday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. No experience is necessary as you will be guided by our volunteer support worker through the basics of horse care, such as catching and grooming, to more advanced activities including lunging and long-reining. As well as horse care, young volunteers complete tasks vital to the smooth running of the farm as well as plan and carry out maintenance tasks and fundraising events.
